Organizational Structure
YPM-Mexico located in Leona Vicario, Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico also has favorable tax status as a non-profit social assistant, that through Government Agencies of Mexico, such as Hacienda Internal Revenue Service (tax and licenses departments), Municiple, Social Security and Emigration offices is eligible to receive tax exempt contributions from the USA, it is eligible to receive tax exempt contributions from Mexico and further that donors from Mexico may deduct contributions to YPM-Mexico on their Mexican income tax return. YPM-Mexico is committed to implementing ministry relationships that provide for Mayan/Mexican and American people in need. YPM-Mexico is governed by Officers and Staff, and is accountable to the same Board of Directors.
Activities
YPM-Mexico meets the needs of people in implementing ministry relationships to help increase a standard of living by actuating and supervising the continuation and expansion of the Christian mission; ensuring accountability of existing projects and ministries and identifying future projects and ministries.
Responsibilities
YPM-Mexico accepts and distributes financial support and the volunteer help to the authorized ministries, local Presbytery designated churches of the National Presbyerian Church of Mexico. Through YPM-Mexico all recipients of donations and aid must adhere to strict financial accountability standards set by YPM-USA.
YPM-USA - Yucatan Peninsula Mission, Incorporated.
Organizational Structure
YPM-USA located in Ouray Colorado as a non-profit corporation received a ruling dated May 8, 2002, effective January 22, 2001 from the Internal Revenue Service determining that it is exempt from United States Federal Income Tax under Section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization described in Section 501(c)(3), and further that donors may deduct contributions to YPM on their federal income tax returns under Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code. YPM-USA is committed to serving with Mayan/Mexican and American people in the Yucatan Peninsula. A Board of Directors governs YPM-USA.
Activities
YPM-USA provides practical tools for positive change to children, adults, families, and communities in the Mayan/Mexican Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico and of the U.S.A. - through service projects, education, health care and Christian Spiritual support. As such, we seek to be accountable through financial and cultural exchange by Christian ministry in mission relationships.
Responsibilities
YPM-USA is organized to advocate, coordinate, facilitate, enable monetary and volunteer help through decision making, fundraising, budgeting, communications, materials, accountability for funds and the help donated not only by Presbyterians but also from other church denominations, individuals, families, groups and teams.
